CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- At the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a bald eagle stands watch over two fledglings. The nest was in a dead, leafless pine tree, called a 'snag.' When a strong thunderstorm recently blew through NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on March 24, two eagles fell to the ground along with their nest. Ecologists at the spaceport, who take great care to track the birds and protect their habitat, stepped in and rescued the eaglets.
