VIERA, Fla. – Third baseman Anthony Rendon, left, of major league baseball’s Washington Nationals offers NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Director Bob Cabana a pen to sign a baseball during a spring training game between the Nationals and the Houston Astros on Space Day at the Space Coast Stadium. Cabana threw the first pitch of the game. Kennedy set up a booth at the stadium for the occasion to highlight some of the contributions the space agency has made to sports, transportation and everyday life. A full-scale test version of NASA's new Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle also was located outside the stadium to show the public the spacecraft under development that will take astronauts farther into space than ever before.
