Sirenum Fossae

This VIS image shows a section of Sirenum Fossae. The linear depressions were created by tectonic forces stretching the surface. Paired faults allow blocks of the surface to slide down into the open space. The linear depressions are called graben. A small channel is visible on the lower right side of the image.
