This video of the Perseverance rover's gDRT (Gaseous Dust Removal Tool) in action was taken during a test in a vacuum chamber at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California in August 2020. The tool fires 12-pounds-per-square-inch (about 83 kilopascal) puffs of nitrogen at the tailings and dust that cover a rock after it has been abraded by the rover.
