Orion Underway Recovery Tests 3 & 4

Recovery team members retrieve a test version of Orion from the Pacific Ocean using a crane on the Navy's USS Salvor on Sept. 13, 2014. A combined NASA and U.S. Navy team practiced recovery techniques off the coast of California over the course of the the week -- first with the Salvor's crane, then using the USS Anchorage's well deck -- in preparation for Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1).
