jsc2023e017438 (April 4, 2023) -- The Honorable François-Philippe Champagne, right, the minister responsible for the Canadian Space Agency, addresses a crowd assembled for the Monday, April 3, 2023, announcement of the Artemis II crew at Ellington Field near NASA’s Johnson Space Center. The astronauts, from left CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, and NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Reid Wideman and Christina Koch, also were joined by Johnson Space Center Director Vanessa Wyche, NASA Associate Administrator Bob Cabana, Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy and Administrator Bill Nelson. The crew is comprised of Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen. The four astronauts will venture around the Moon on Artemis II, the first crewed mission on NASA’s path to establishing a long-term presence at the Moon for science and exploration through Artemis.
