Pettit in Kibo

S126-E-013885 (27 Nov. 2008) --- Astronaut Donald Pettit, STS-126 mission specialist, looks at the home planet from a window inside the Kibo laboratory on Thanksgiving Day. The brownish land in the foreground that Pettit is looking at is the southwest portion of the South Island of New Zealand and covers the coastal area between the cities of Timaru (north or left side of the image) and Dunedin on Sawyers Bay (south or right hand side of the photo). The white is cloud cover over the ocean. One more day remains for the Space Shuttle Endeavour to be docked with the station.
