S127-E-006846 (18 July 2009) --- Astronaut Tim Kopra, mission specialist, is pictured during the first of five planned spacewalks to be performed on the International Space Station by the STS-127 crew. Kopra, joined by astronaut Dave Wolf (out of frame) on this spacewalk, holds onto a handrail on Harmony or U.S. Node 2. When the Endeavour crew returns to Earth, Kopra will stay onboard the station to serve as flight engineer for ISS expedition duty.
