STS-81 preflight photos taken at the Kennedy Space Center

S97-00251 (5 Dec. 1996) --- The SPACEHAB-DM double module, scheduled to be used during STS-81 to transport Russian logistics material and supplies for the Mir-22 crew, is lowered into a payload canister in the Space Station Processing Facility at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The module will provide space for more than 2,000 pounds of hardware, food, water and other supplies which will be transferred by crewmembers into Mir during the 10-day mission. (Editor's Note: Following its installation into the canister, the module was transported on Jan. 12 to Launch Pad 39B and installed into the payload bay of the space shuttle Atlantis).
