Rominger, STS-80 pilot, occupies the commander's station aboard the space shuttle Columbia during station keeping operations with the Orbiting Retrievable Far and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrometer-Shuttle Pallet Satellite (ORFEUS-SPAS). Earth, actually some 190 nautical miles away, appears to be just beyond arm's length on Columbia's port side.
