NASA Spitzer Space Telescope surveyed the danger zones around five O-stars in the Rosette nebula. This artist animation illustrates how this process works.
This image from NASA Spitzer Space Telescope is of the Rosette nebula, a turbulent star-forming region located 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros.
This image from ESA Herschel Space Observatory shows of a portion of the Rosette nebula, a stellar nursery about 5,000 light-years from Earth in the Monoceros, or Unicorn, constellation.

This infrared image from NASA Spitzer Space Telescope shows the Rosette nebula, a pretty star-forming region more than 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros.

Artist impression of Herschel is set against an image captured by the observatory, showing baby stars forming in the Rosette nebula. The bright spots are dusty cocoons containing massive forming stars, each one up to ten times the mass of our own sun.

This solar system montage of the nine planets and four large moons of Jupiter in our solar system are set against a false-color view of the Rosette Nebula.

Unicorns and roses are usually the stuff of fairy tales, but a new cosmic image taken by NASA WISE mission shows the Rosette nebula in the constellation Monoceros, or the Unicorn.

A Rosette water sampler system that will be used during the Salinity Processes in the Upper Ocean Regional Study (SPURS) is seen onboard the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's research vessel Knorr on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in Woods Hole, Mass. Knorr is scheduled to depart for the NASA-sponsored expedition on Sept. 6 and will head into the North Atlantic's saltiest spot to get a detailed, 3-D picture of how salt content fluctuates in the ocean's upper layers and how these variations are related to shifts in rainfall patterns around the planet. The blue and white rosette on the left with the writing поÑа в коÑÐ¼Ð¾Ñ is the symbol and name of the Russian television program for children that covers cosmonautic and International Space Station (ISS) topics. Photo was taken during Expedition 34.

jsc2024e006094 (1/18/2024) --- Cross-section of a two-month old cerebral organoid observed under a fluorescence microscope. The colours obtained by immunofluorescence labeling highlight certain elements of the organoid’s structure. In blue the cell nuclei, in green, a sub-population of immature neurons, and in red, neurogenic zones with a high concentration of stem cells, in the shape of rosettes, where new neurons are forming. On June 28, 2011, Holley Kelly, a teacher from Farragut High School, helped retrieve the CTD/Rosette ensemble from the Bering Strait, east of the Diomede Islands. The ICESCAPE mission, or "Impacts of Climate on Ecosystems and Chemistry of the Arctic Pacific Environment," is a NASA shipborne investigation to study how changing conditions in the Arctic affect the ocean's chemistry and ecosystems. The bulk of the research took place in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas in summer 2010 and 2011.
