First motion was at 3:16 a.m. EDT. Three lightning towers have been erected already on Pad 39B, at right, to support the new launch vehicles in NASA's Constellation Program. Endeavour was on standby on Pad 39B to be used in the unlikely event that a rescue mission was necessary during space shuttle Atlantis' STS-125 mission to NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
