Westland in the Netherlands is the greenhouse capital of the world. It is the number two exporter of food as measured by value, second only to the United States. This is accomplished inside of almost 100 square kilometers of greenhouses. Tomato production, for example is 1 million tons per year, grown on only 18 square kilometers of area, making it number one globally in efficiency.
