Salin-de-Giraud, France

Salin-de-Giraud is a major center of salt production on the right bank of the Rhone River in southern France. Through evaporation of seawater, about one million tons of salt are produced every year. In addition, the recovery of sodium carbonate is key to the manufacture of the soap of Marseille.
